There are few people (set aside gardeners, florists, and botanists) who appreciate a gorgeous floral display as much as a bride does. Yes, an eager bride-to-be often spends hours upon hours searching, Pinning, purchasing, and arranging her wedding flowers until they are in tip-top shape for her big day. And while she may furiously search for the *next big thing* in floral designs to frantically text her bridesmaids at 1 a.m. (she desperately needs her girls’ opinions!), one piece of décor that no bride should go without is the hanging floral arrangement.  These elaborate displays of flora and fauna made their entrance onto the wedding scene this past summer and we definitely have taken notice. And now that September has crept up on us, we’ve got a few tricks to turning this blooming, outdoor summer reception piece into an all-year round, all-encompassing staple for any wedding’s décor: 

1. Single-Strands

You don’t need a huge bushel of blossoms to impress your guests! These single-strand hanging arrangements are all you need to add some soft romanticism to your reception tables. String together a few different shades in your color scheme of a favorite flower for a uniform chandelier effect, or opt for a few un-pruned single-stemmed flowers hanging freely from ribbons for a more bohemian concept.

2. Geometric Arrangements

When it comes to décor, geometric shapes are basic. But, that doesn’t mean your wedding has to be! Give your reception flowers a touch of metallic flair by wrapping them around gold, silver, bronze, or rose gold geometric accents. The textural contrast is the perfect mix of nature and man-made materials, which will make you look like the craftiest bride around!

3. Herbal Arrangements

Toss the tulips and do away with the dahlias! All of the materials you need to add some flora to your reception tables are right in your herb garden! Consider clipping fresh, green herbs to a twine strand and suspending them over your tables for a natural accent to any springtime wedding! Or, if you’re big on color, swap out your flowers for gorgeous, fragrant lavender bushels. Either way, your wedding will be a gorgeous celebration of all things organic (including your love!).

4. Fall Flowers

Unfortunately, fall brides always seem to miss to bandwagon on floral trends. However, hanging arrangements are perfect for all-seasons! Simply switch up the summer favorites of hibiscus and lilies with more seasonally-appropriate blooms (think: sunflowers, succulents, and marigolds) to elevate any hanging flower chandelier to a design fit for an autumn goddess! Bonus: spice up your arrangements with even more seasonal fun by incorporating fall-shaped fixtures that your guests will surely be thankful over!

Tackle the hanging floral arrangement trend, even if your big day is taking place in a snowy wonderland! Stick with seasonal white, deep red, ice blue, and gold to defy the laws of nature and include gorgeous, thriving blossoms at your winter wedding!

6. Single Roses

Roses are by far the most romantic flower in the garden. So, why not dangle a few of these love leaves together to create a stunning single-rose chandelier? Pair matching blossoms or a mix of hues to create a pseudo-chandelier that will look absolutely magical as it looms over your guests!

Stick with one color in your scheme and find blooms in slightly different shades to create dimension in your hanging floral arrangements!
