It’s no wonder this wedding is such a stunner when the bride is a designer for Tory Burch! This gorgeous wedding took place at The London West Hollywood on a warm sunny day – it’s equal parts modern and romantic with a subtle touch of whimsy. A giant topiary of their initials provided a wow-worthy moment for their guests as they danced to a classic – “I Got You Babe” by Sonny & Cher. Lucky for us, ART IS FOR LOVERS was there to capture every last detail! See all the magic of their day unfold right here.
How did you decide what you wanted your wedding to look like?
"My love of design, decor, interiors, fashion.. i wanted it to be a mix of classic & modern with lots of greenery. Instead of how a "wedding" should be with color themes- I wanted it to be "how I would decorate my home" or a "dinner party". Romantic, classic, a bit quirky with all my favorite things- topiaries, blue & white Chinoiserie vases, black & white checkered floors, chandeliers, candelabras and I definitely wanted long rectangular tables. I also had my "Olympia Le Tan" book clutch for the wedding- as something blue, which I loved! I felt The London was such a modern space, so I wanted to balance it with soft, vintage colored flowers in organic shapes, gold accents and a chandelier. I always knew I would have a giant monogram topiary at my wedding... I actually wanted it larger but it took much longer and it was much heavier than expected - so that was as large as I could go!"
Were there any significant decorations or parts of the design that you can tell as about?
"I wanted it to feel classic but with a little twist - a little "Alice in Wonderland" like - with the gold chairs, black & white checkerboard dance floors, giant topiaries, with a crystal chandelier centering the dance floor. I thought the bistro lights and candelabras would give it more of a soft, romantic feel (instead of harsh spotlights or colored lights) with the view of Hollywood from the rooftop. I also love anything topiary hence the DIY project of the B&W lettered topiary. It took weeks and many trips to downtown LA but I thought it was successful at the end. My friend, Patty helped paint the map and wreath/garlands for my invitation. I knew I wanted it to be watercolor, organic looking, and lots of green. From that I created the watercolor menu. My cousin was generous enough to print them all for me at his print shop in NYC. I also wanted all the guys to wear a colorful striped Happy Sock. It's the grooms favorite thing- always wears one of those Happy Socks so I thought it would be cute to have all the groomsmen and my nephew, the ring bearer to wear them!"
Anything other advice or thoughts to share with future brides?
"It was definitely life saving to have a part time wedding coordinator. Especially since I was planning an LA wedding from NY. Esther definitely helped me be organized with a check list, dealing with vendors, introducing me to vendors and all the nitty gritty stuff! Also, don't be too stressed out- it's just a big party full of all your loved ones at the end. Enjoy the process!"

What was the highlight of your wedding day?
"Just all my loved ones - family and best friends all being in one place. My best friends flew in from New York and San Francisco and my sister from Seattle and family from Korea. Will & I have been dating 10 years long distance (him in SF and me in NY) so it was so great for us to finally unite in one place surrounded by all our favorite people. Also, Will's father - Martin Park, officiated our wedding which was so much more meaningful and touching."
