A new year means hot new trends that brides can’t wait to get their hands on! From paper décor de jour to neon gif booths inspired by the Met Gala, 2017 is sure to be an unforgettable year. With these fun and gorgeous trends, we’re positive this is going to be the best year for weddings yet.
1. The Bold Bride
The modern bride is bold and unafraid to flaunt bright colors to prove it. Whether it’s a huge color pop in reception décor, a non-traditional colored wedding dress or bright and colorful shoes, be prepared to see a vivid 2017.

2. Fabric Runner
One trend we’re loving this year is the light fabric runner. A long sheer piece of fabric creates a flawless feminine touch that can dress up any table.

3. Greenery Over Floral
We’ve slowly been seeing the switch from over-the-top floral design to subtly gorgeous greenery. We predict that this garden-chic look is going to continue to grow on us this year.

4. Paper Flowers
We are obsessing over the paper flower look this year. With available DIY-friendly instructions and a couple of good friends to lend a helping hand, your arbor, centerpieces or even bouquet could be adorning gorgeously, on-trend paper flowers

5. Artisanal Cocktails
This is not your average cocktail hour: handcrafted, high caliber cocktails made by professional mixologists are going to make a welcome appearance in the wedding world this year. Your cocktail hour is a fun opportunity for you and your husband to loosen up and celebrate with your guests immediately following your ceremony. Why not make it an experience they won’t soon forget?

6. Neon Booths
Move over, photo booths, there’s a new media in town and it’s gif. Just kidding, we know gif booths are nothing new, but neon video portrait booths (a la Vogue’s Met Gala feature/Hotline Bling) are so on trend right now. It may be a bit over the top, but we cannot suggest a more fun feature for your guests.
7. Applique Is Back
Fall 2017 bridal fashion week has brought us some seriously dreamy wedding dresses. One trend we noticed that was making a HUGE comeback is applique! Be prepared to see some gorgeous fabric florals stitched onto epic gowns.

8. Custom Emojis
One of our favorite trends is custom wedding emojis! Hire a graphic designer to design emojis that represent you and yours to text to your guests on your wedding day or weekend.

9. The Digital Planner
With the multitude of registry and planning apps available today, today’s wedding hardly requires pen or paper. More and more couples are utilizing wedding websites, digital save the dates and even invitations to ease wedding planning for themselves and their guests.

10. Uplighting
or some strange reason, we haven’t seen a heavy use of uplighting in recent years. We love a good party, and any good party in our book requires some party lighting. If your wedding is on a budget lacks some of the décor elements you dreamed of, make it up with floor to ceiling lighting to get the party started.
